Summary
Where: The Automotive Campus in Helmond or remotely. For some (also senior) roles we are accommodating people to work from outside of the Netherlands for the majority of their weeks. What will you do as Technical Writer in Electrical & Power Electronics?
In the role of technical writer, you will be responsible for the technical design documentation. While Technical documentation and its templates are your prime focus, your role isn’t limited to these framed tasks and responsibilities:

  • Write requirement and specification documents
  • Create/update documentation templates
  • Create/update design documentation
  • Prepare technical drawings
  • Create/update manufacturing documentation
  • Create/update user documentation (e.g. user manual)
  • Review user documentation (e.g. user manual)

What do we expect from a Technical Writer Electrical & Power Electronics?
In order to succeed in the dynamic world of Lightyear; pro-activity, professionalism, communication, and adaptability are crucial. We are looking for someone with an ambitious attitude who learns from the past but who is especially open to transforming new developments or ideas into the ‘tried and tested’ of the future! You thrive on working team-based, but working independently every now and then shouldn’t be an issue. Furthermore, we think the following is needed to fulfill the role of Technical writer:

  • A Bachelor's or post-secondary vocational education in
  • 5+ years experience in Technical Writing
  • Besides the above-listed tasks and responsibilities knowledgeable in:
        • Broad Electrical Engineering experience
        • Very familiar with or quickly to understand:
  • On the practical side you have experience in:
        • Writing high-quality and well-structured documents
  • Having knowledge of and/or experience in the following is a plus:
          • Electronics
          • Power Electronics
          • Embedded systems
          • Electrical schematics
          • Practical experience with driving/using electrical vehicles

Personally, you consider yourself a team player while being decisive. Furthermore, you are self-propelled, autonomous, committed, outspoken, proactive, and precise.
