A day as a Solar R&D Proto Engineer
So, let's assume it's Thursday you chose to come to our office and the first thing you do is grab your favorite wake-up drink before rolling into your first task of the day:

You check your emails and notice a few meeting requests from colleagues to follow up on some projects we have running which are scheduled for the afternoon. You also got an internal chat message of a colleague who is having trouble in the lab with a home-built setup. After taking a nice walk down to the lab, the colleague explains the problem and together you try to troubleshoot through the problem and collectively provide the path forward.

And before you know it, it is time for lunch. You decided to go for a walk together with a few colleagues, because the weather is perfect today (the sun is always shining at Lightyear of course!). During walks like these, it's not all about work. You talk about when you will go mountain biking together or about what you have planned for the upcoming weekend.

In the afternoon you continue working on a new project which is still in the early design phase where you take the time to look up all components, materials or devices required to fulfill the measurements with high accuracy. Following some update meetings with colleagues, you check out some datasheets and documentation to learn more about a specific communication protocol used by a new piece of equipment.

Then, it's finally time for your well-deserved Thursday afternoon drink or you participate in one of the fun activities our happiness team comes up with!
