What will you do as IT Infrastructure/ System Administrator at Lightyear?
As a System Administrator, you will divide your time between delivering support to our users, acting on issues, maintaining infrastructure, and working on tasks in sprints related to a new system or infrastructure development.

The ambition of Lightyear requires information to flow efficiently throughout the company. More information almost always leads to better decisions. You will join a team that implements, maintains, and automates various IT infrastructure components and services. Your job will include activities to implement and deploy new systems and components, day-to-day end-user support, administration, and maintenance of backend systems (directory, networking, software distribution, virtualization platform). You will have the opportunity to explore and learn new technologies and broaden your knowledge in various aspects of workplace management and IT service delivery. 

An example of your day
Your days will be dynamic because of our fast-growing environment and tremendous ambition. No day will be the same but to give you an idea: 

"Start the day with addressing critical tickets and following up on email. Next work on the definition of architecture for infrastructure projects together with a highly skilled and motivated team. In the afternoon work on sprint tasks and perform implementation and configuration work. End the day with taking some time looking into and learning about the latest innovations in relevant technology."

Your job will focus on but is not limited to:

  • Further establish IT infrastructure and workplace services
  • Management and maintenance of existing IT infrastructure and systems
  • Day-to-day support and administration tasks of various systems and software solutions
  • Provide user support (hardware and software) and follow up on service desk tickets

What do we expect from an IT Infrastructure/ System Administrator?
In order to succeed in the role of IT Infrastructure/ System Administrator we are looking for someone with:

  • preferably a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent but we are also open to other backgrounds
  • at least 4 years of experience in a similar role
  • a passion for IT and the motivation to keep innovating
  • Scripting, and knowledge of tools like puppet, AWS, Terraform, Google Workspace and Okta are a plus
  • Knowledge of virtualization concepts (e.g KVM, QEMU, Hypervisors, PCIe pass-through)
  • Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g DHCP, DNS, routing, VLAN, Software Defined Networking)
  • Knowledge of identity and access management services (e.g Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS, SSO)
  • Knowledge of Linux server OSses
  • Excellent skills in the English language are mandatory (verbal and written)

What do we consider as extra reasons to get to know you better?

  • Knowledge of Keycloak 
  • Development / scripting skills (e.g Linux-/powershell, python)
  • Knowledge of databases 
  • Knowledge and experience with G-suite 
  • Knowledge of Openstack 
  • Relevant certification in IT infrastructure systems and methodologies (scrum)
