Working at Lightyear is a unique experience. You get the opportunity to work for a company with a pure and meaningful mission. A mission that will make a positive and lasting impact on future generations.
What will you do as an IT Analyst?
Refine the IT backlog by conducting user-centric research to translate the context of end-users into concrete epics, features and user stories (requirements) usable by a development team. Create product documentation, including technical documentation e.g. data or information models, interaction diagrams. Align with stakeholders, in IT and in business divisions on features to be delivered. Create, maintain and follow-up on a roadmap of to be delivered features of IT team. Support and facilitate the business in definition of relevant business processes. Establish user groups for relevant products
A day in the life of the user story guru at Lightyear will never be the same. At the start it will consist of a lot of talks with stakeholders and users in the business to understand their current situation and where we need to be in a few years. After these talks it’s time to shadow one of your colleagues on his daily routine, really getting a perspective on what the ultimate solution would be for his or her problems.
After writing this all down you add your insights to the overall IT backlog and update the roadmap of features planned to be delivered.
After lunch it is time to go through the new features with the broader IT team in a backlog refinement session.
You talk the team through not only the user stories so they understand the context of the end-user but also through the diagrams and models you made to get them up-to-speed with what needs to be delivered.
At the end of the day you send a survey to a user group to see if the latest release of product X is delivering the features as intended.
And after all that hard work it’s time to enjoy a nice cold beer with your colleagues, well done, you’ve earned it!
