Sitting within the Recruitment team, you’ll apply rich, creative, and inspiring copy to inform, engage and get future employees excited about Lightyear. You will ensure Lightyear’s employment vacancies are worth reading, getting people all charged up to deep-dive into our company and technology. Using your way with words, you’ll make sure that we remain sincere, inspiring, and clear in all of our recruitment-based communication.

A day in the life

You’ve decided to work from our main HQ in Helmond, where Lightyear’s electric atmosphere is arguably at its best. Here, we appreciate good coffee and fresh fruit on tap, and you grab yourself a cup and a snack as you roll into your morning meeting with a recruiter. You’ve had a bright idea about how to reframe Lightyear’s vacancy text and its imagery, and you can't wait to discuss and put it into motion.
Next up: a series of inspirational LinkedIn posts to promote Lightyear’s latest vacancies. You run the drafts by your colleague, Lightyear’s Sr Copywriter, to ensure they hit the mark in terms of tone. It’s a great chance to bounce ideas off of each other, and you end the chat feeling hyped about developing Lightyear’s unique and sincere brand voice.
Over lunch, you scan a few favorite blogs for inspiration. Something catches your eye, and you decide to share it with the recruitment team once you head back from the campus restaurant. But first, a stroll around the park with a few colleagues. It’s a nice day, why not?
You kick off the afternoon by proofreading a few vacancies, written by recruiters, editing against Lightyear’s brand and tone of voice, and correcting grammar, spelling, and readability along the way. As the day rounds off, you catch up with a member of the recruitment marketing team to review the results of an A/B caption test. It revealed that captions using the first person drive higher engagement than the third person. Nice!
