What will you do as Group Lead Testing Organization? 
As Group Lead within Testing, part of the Technology Circle, you know how to keep your cool. Having an overview of all your daily tasks and meetings, therefore, comes naturally to you. With that in mind, you start your day wrapping your head around your agenda. Which meeting requires preparation? Which team member deserves some extra attention today? Who can I give time to work on the test facilities roadmap?

The rest of the day will be very different each day again: we never had a dull day at Lightyear yet and we hope this will not happen anytime soon. You are the person that will inspire, motivate and build a strong and healthy team. Your ambition is to put people in their strength and develop themselves accordingly. 

  • The Testing Organization team consists of 3 main task groups, namely: Testing Support, Testing Facility Management, and Validation & Verification Methodologies
  • The Testing Support team consists of an agile coach, process owner(s), as well as DAQ experts, and data management engineers. And will need to get involved in simulation and correlation activities between design and verification.
  • The Testing Facility Management team consists of lab and vehicle technicians, test equipment, and test facilities developers. These support creation, usage, and maintenance of all internal facilities and also support testing-at-location.
  • The V&V Methods group combines all tasks related to setting up a closed-loop verification and validation process, systems, and tools within Lightyear. And works closely with Engineering and Research.
  • The Group Lead also supports the overall Testing team tasks like strategy definition, mid-term and long-term roadmaps, resources management, organization improvements, and financial management
  • You determine the specific Testing Organization knowledge and business needs versus resources, in collaboration with the experts. And you develop the team accordingly.
  • Investigate, develop and implement state-of-the-art processes, technologies, and partnerships in the fields of test organization, validation and verification processes, and test automation, virtualization, and simulation.
  • Co-create a correlated fully virtual component, system, and integration testing environment
  • Monitoring and securing the performance of the Testing Organization deliverables and the group members within the projects and research.
  • HR-related activities regarding your domain group(s) - such as sick leave, leave requests, 360 feedback, 1:1, contract extensions, personal development, etc.

What do we expect from a Group Lead Testing Organization at Lightyear?
To succeed in the dynamic world of Lightyear, pro-activity, professionalism, communication, and adaptability are crucial. In addition, we are looking for someone with an ambitious attitude who learns from the past (tried and tested) but who is especially open to transforming new developments or ideas into the "tried and tested" of the future! You are also someone with a high sense of responsibility and a cooperative attitude. Furthermore, you'll bring: 

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a  technical direction is mandatory. Preferably in automotive, embedded software, CAE, or electrical/electromechanical direction
  • 10+ years of professional work experience of which 5+ years leading an (automotive) team
  • A pre would be in testing, simulation, in virtualization, in leadership training

  • You act as a leader with a bird’s eye view 

  • CAE or simulation or correlation software knowledge is almost a must. Programming or data management skills are a pre

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch (preferred)
