Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
What will you do as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer?
In this role, you’ll take ownership of Lightyear’s cloud infrastructure, the invisible backbone that keeps our applications, data, and development environments running smoothly and securely. You’ll design, build, and maintain a private cloud environment that supports high availability, security, and scalability for IoT and high-volume data applications.
You’ll also bring clarity and structure to our IT landscape: managing licenses, coordinating with external IT partners, and ensuring our systems evolve in step with the company’s ambitions.
Your key responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain Lightyear’s private cloud infrastructure to support high-volume data processing and IoT applications.
Manage cloud configuration and ensure all applications can run efficiently and securely.
Take ownership of overall IT management, including license administration and system architecture oversight.
Collaborate closely with software teams to align infrastructure needs and ensure seamless deployment pipelines.
Lead on cloud cost optimization and ensure scalability without compromising performance or security.
Implement and monitor security frameworks in line with best practices and certifications.
Coordinate with external IT support partners to ensure smooth daily operations.

What do we expect from a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer?
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing, setting up, and managing cloud infrastructure (experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools is a strong plus).
Strong understanding of IT management, systems administration, and software deployment environments.
Security certifications and a proactive mindset toward secure system design. Knowledge of automotive standard IATF 16949 and adjoining security certifications is a big plus
Experience with high-availability systems, high data throughput environments, and cost management in cloud contexts.
Comfortable navigating between strategy and hands-on work, from defining architecture to solving operational issues.

Furthermore, we are looking for someone who is:
Available 32-40 hours per week
Not afraid to make mistakes and looking to learn from the past;

Availability for 40 hours per week (with flexible working hours).
